WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMON, MAKE LEMONADE

A lot of things happen in life, yes! The blind can see that, the deaf can hear it, the dumb are saying it again and again, it is crystal clear, thus, we conclude that life does not give us want we want or deserve, life seems or it is not fair to everyone.

We strive for greatness, then something goes so wrong that we find it difficult to take a step further. Hence, the "when life gives you lemon, make lemonade".

It is a fact that lemon is sour and lemonade is sweet. Making lemon  into lemonade means turning an unpleasant situation into a pleasant one. It is easier said than done but it is true that from a bitter situation, we can get a deeper sweetness, every well-managed condition is a blessing.
Negative things will happen, it's inevitable, but out of virtually every bad situation we can constructively find  a way out. The following 8 points may help in doing that:

[1] LOOK FOR THE LESSON
When you are in an unpleasant situation, look carefully into it, there is a lesson. Dale Carnegie wrote "if a fool finds out that life has handed him lemon, he gives up and says 'I'm beaten, it is fate. I haven't got a chance'. Then he proceeds to rail against the world and indulge in an orgy self pity. But when a wise man is handed a lemon, he says   'what lesson can I learn from this misfortune? How can I improve my situation?  How am I going to turn this Lemmon into lemonade?'" .

[2] CHANGE YOUR LANGUAGE
Do not say 'I am a failure'. Swap 'I can't do anything right' for 'I just made another mistake'. The things we say to our selves matter a lot. Stay away from negative words as much as you can. Avoid it!

[3] REFRAIN FROM MAKING COMPARISM
Comparison they say brings about frustration. Do not compare yourself to other people. No matter how attractive or smart you think you are, there is someone better, similarly, no matter how unfortunate, needy or poor you think you are, there is someone going through worst, so run at your pace, work with your time, find your north star and move towards excellence.

[4] BE MENTALLY ACTIVE Maximize your potential, identify possibilities and seek opportunity. Be ready and alerted, use your brain to the maximum of its capacity if possible.

[5] REACH OUT FOR SUPPORT
Do not isolate yourself, reach out for social support. No matter what you are facing, whether it is financial troubles or a breakdown, there is someone out there who understands your struggle. Meet up with people, turn to family or friends. You can meet a counselor. You may be able to find solace knowing that you are not alone. Remember: A closed mouth is a closed destiny.

[6] STICK BY POSITIVE PEOPLE Positive people help you to stay positive. Share your time with people who make you feel valued and worthy. Our environment largely influence us.

[7] BE HOPEFUL
Alexander pop has rightly  said "hope springs  eternal in humans' breast". It is human nature to always find opportunity in adversity. I am playing a game and fail to pass the level, the only thing that does not let me become pessimistic is hope that I have many chances left and this hope continues, till the last chance. So it is with man's life. He tries to bring golden opportunity out of life even in the face of misfortune until the  upheaval is gone

[8] ANTICIPATE THE BEST OUT COME YET PREPARE FOR THE WORST
As you strive to turn things around for good, look forward to you succeeding but also have it in mind that there is a possibility that it won't work out so that if it eventually doesn't work out you would opt for the plan B. We have so many optimistic people who were able to make the best out of the worst. A life without limit is the biography of Fredrick Douglas. He was born into slavery, like every other slave, he does not know the exact date of his birth. He went through a lot of atrocities while growing up but some how along the way he learnt to read and write, he chose not to let any other person live such a life. He became an Abolitionist, Orator, Writer and a Statesman during his life time. That is what people call turning adversities into advancement.
Another influential example is Cobhams Asuquo. He was born on the 6th of January 1981 in Jos, plateau. He was born blind, as a child he use to play 12-bar blues, today he his the CEO of Cobhams Asuquo music production (CAMP)  and his known for producing one of the finest artists in Nigeria. He is a man that believes in not letting opportunities and possibilities pass him by. When I see him play the instrument, I am marveled. He was able to make lemonade out of Lemmon (an unpleasant situation)

There is no doubt that as humans we all posses the ability to brighten our lives, page way for success and turn adversaries into advancement. When you feel devastated, disappointed or unfortunate, look at the life of these people. They were able to fulfill the potential of being human, we can learn from their ability to make what seem unachievable achievable
